A brass thumb rest for modern instruments.

Depending on the model or hand size, the original thumb rest can result in an uncomfortable playing position. The hand may tense up or the thumb may start to ache. The angled design of the Marx Thumb Rest Ergo provides an effective solution.

Depending on the orientation of the thumb rest, the position of the left hand can be rotated. This allows players with smaller hands, for example, to reach the palm keys more comfortably—or, conversely, to bring the hand closer when needed.

On instruments with a smaller body diameter, such as soprano saxophones, the hand can be opened more comfortably. On instruments with a larger diameter, such as bass saxophones, the hand position can be reduced accordingly.

Original thumb rests made of brass or plastic are usually glued onto a mounting plate. By removing adjacent keys and gently warming the thumb rest with a hairdryer, it can usually be detached easily. If necessary, seek assistance from a qualified technician.

With an outer diameter of 24 mm, the Marx Thumb Rest Ergo may be larger than the original thumb rest. Please ensure that it does not interfere with the operation of the octave key. If in doubt, consult a qualified technician.

The base bore for the mounting post is 17.5 mm. An adapter ring for smaller mounting posts is included.

Easy installation using two Allen screws.
